Collaborate to align assessments, standards, and instruction by starting with the end in mind. Teachers will examine performance data including FSA, district quarterly assessment data, and SuccessMaker data. After determining the standards that students need more work with, teachers will review the test item specifications from FSA, examine key attributes of the identified standard(s), and then determine critical teaching points in order for students to master the standard. Teachers will then connect these findings to the curriculum by reviewing the Year-At-A-Glance and curriculum maps. Through this work, teachers will collaborate to discuss small group instruction - discussing how these standards are taught, how instruction can be scaffolded, and identify opportunities for re-teaching these standards. The intended outcome is for teachers to be able to use all of the resources addressed (data, test item specs, curriculum documents) to plan for minilessons and questioning in order to support student mastery and understanding of the standards.
