As a process of for the completion of the National Demonstration Cycle:
The school improvement plan serves as a basis for continuous refinement in providing AVID as a foundation for college readiness through monthly professional development sessions using WICOR strategies. At Bayshore, providing an environment focused on college readiness has become a major priority of the entire Bruin family. PD is provided on the use of Cornell Notes and employing close-reading, editing, and summarizing strategies. AVID weekly will be made available by the Site Team through a shared electronic document library. The site team works collaboratively to implement the AVID philosophy, methodology, and teaching strategies to improve student performance schoolwide.
As we complete the final stage of the National Demonstration Cycle and prepare for the final visits on January 19th, January 31 and the validation visit on March 8th, we must review and complete our plan for receiving National Demonstration status.
