Florida Diagnostic and Learning System (FLKRS) offers an online course that provides an overview of the Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI), 2nd edition. This course has been approved by the state of Florida and the participants who complete the course will be certified to administer the BDI, 2nd edition. Pre-K teachers are invited to complete this course over the summer and are given 60 days after enrollment to complete it. The participants will:
Receive an overview of the new edition with an emphasis on the changes from the original BDI. Review the validity, reliability, and key features of the BDI2. Review each of the domains and sub-domains. Learn general rules of administration and scoring, use of basals and ceilings, and calculation of raw scores. Learn the three procedures and the process of administering and scoring individual items by the different procedures. Learn the procedure for hand-scoring and plotting the domains and sub-domains on the test record. Become familiar with the features and reports available through use of the computer scoring program. Learn basic interpretation techniques with case studies.
